Artist Statement: Currently, my exploration as an artist has taken me into God's Word. More specifically, to areas that deal with God's heart towards his people. In Matthew 10:29–31, Jesus is teaching about the Father's will and his care. The idea that sparrows’ lives, though unimportant, are cared for and ultimately under the will of God paints a very compassionate picture of God's heart towards us. My goal as an artist right now is finding these spiritual themes and letting my imagination come up with the painting. Hopefully, the viewer will get a sense of God's truth and be spurred on to further exploration into the Bible and what God has revealed there.
Bio: Ryan Stadler was born in Madison, Wisconsin and lived there for two years. His father was in the United States Air Force and this kept his family moving across the United States during his childhood. Ryan eventually lived in Missouri, Alaska, and Colorado, and headed back to Wisconsin by age thirteen. Before Ryan's freshman year of high school, his family moved to Bloomington, MN, where his parents still live. Ryan was in the Honors Art program at John F. Kennedy H.S. and graduated from the University of Minnesota, in 2004, with a B.A degree in Art. Currently, Ryan lives in South Minneapolis with his wife, Michelle, and their two cats.
