What is Maturity and Aging?
- Maturity and Aging: Transitioning through life.
- Maturity: This is a period where one learns from mistakes, gains experience and wisdom from life, grows inwardly, and sees life in a broader context.
- Aging: A particular period of life when a person becomes naturally or socially qualified or disqualified for anything.
What are the four essentials of good health?
- Social Well-being: Personal health depends partially on the social structure of one’s life. These relationships are linked to good health conditions, longevity, productivity, and a positive attitude.
- Physical Well-being: This refers to body health which is the result of regular exercise, proper diet and nutrition, and adequate rest for physical recovery.
- Mental and Emotional Well-being: Mental and emotional well-being is defined as an individual’s ability to appreciate life and seek a balance between life activities and efforts to achieve psychological resilience.
- Spiritual Well-being: A sense of peace and contentment.
Baby-boomers
- Many baby-boomers grew up in divorced families.
- They are the first generation raised on television.
- Baby-boomers grew up in the turbulent sixties and early seventies. Hence they have concerns for world peace, world unity, and the environment.
- They typically abhor discrimination of any kind.
- Having relationships with other people, enjoying life, and having a full set of experiences are important to boomers.
- It is the “if it feels good, do it” and “tell it like it is” generation.
- They are practical, not theoretical.
- Boomers are a prosperous generation that is incredibly mobile.
- It is a more casual, less formal generation.
- Baby-boomers are obsessed with health.
- They are very individualistic.
- In general, they are suspicious of institutional authority.
